If you are in the market to upgrade some appliances at home and stuff, this might help with the bills a bit. The biggest thing to remember is that you must pay for the work and then submit the request to get a rebate. They'll be done first come, first serve - so no guarantee you'll see any money.

Rebates include:

Heating System Inspection
$30 Rebate - 26-Point Heating System Checkup
Heating System Replacement
$150 Rebate - 92% to 95.9% Efficient Natural Gas Furnace or Boiler
$550 Rebate - 96% Efficient Natural Gas Furnace or Boiler
$1,950 Rebate - Electric Resistance to Natural Gas Furnace Conversion
$1,950 Rebate - Natural Gas Back-Up Furnace to Supplement Air Source Heat Pump*
Water Heater Replacement
$50 Rebate - Natural Gas to Natural Gas energy factor of .67 or higher
$250 Rebate - Natural Gas to Tankless Natural Gas energy factor of .82 or higher
$850 Rebate - Electric to natural gas energy factor of .67 or higher
Gas Dryer
Up to $680 - Natural Gas Clothes Dryer

Really good deal if you are going from electric to gas water heaters. The gas dryer one isn't bad either.

I saw this a few days ago and im kinda skeptical that depending on the results of programs like these we will be smacked by higher fuel prices this winter as they increase dependence.

Plus I dont have a great taste in my mouth about other rebate programs we have participated in. For example - OGE offered a rebate program last year that we participated in the included the following. Looks like they are still offering it -

It pays to save energy. That’s why OG&E is offering an in-home energy audit as part of the Home Energy Efficiency Program. This detailed walk-through assessment of your home includes a comprehensive report describing everything from no-cost/low-cost simple changes to long-term recommendations that start saving you money right away!

A $350 value for only $50!

In addition to the audit, valued at $250, you’ll also receive

A FREE air conditioner tune-up (valued at $75)
Your home may qualify for up to $300 duct repair
A FREE energy efficiency kit (valued at $30)
Valuable coupons to help you save even more

You are eligible to participate if you are an OG&E customer in Oklahoma and you have not participated in the OG&E Weatherization program.

Your home energy audit
During your inspection, your home energy specialist will answer questions and explain a wide-variety of factors that contribute to energy efficiency. Items that will be reviewed include:

Attic Insulation
Home Air Leakage Sealing
Attic Ventilation
Windows
Lighting Efficiency
Duct Repair/Sealing
Heating and Cooling Efficiency

It’s easy to enroll.

Some how after their contractors came out and did an audit, 'tuned up my a/c', 'fixed some airducts' in the attic we now are paying around more 50 dollars a month this summer than we did last summer. I know it was a hot summer, but we have a programmable thermostat that is running the same program we were the previous year and haven't purchased any new electronic appliances....

I called and asked why the difference and the girl told me that the ac is working harder because of the temps. I corrected her and explained that if the condenser is running it draws the same power regardless of what the outside temp on standard condenser units. So im still kinda at a loss at how our electric bill has been increasing.
