My inlaws families are from Enid and the surrounding area. I grew up between Covington and Garber, until we moved to Hutchinson, Ks. But, I still had friends from the area and still do today. I was in Enid in July for the mother-in-laws family reunion. We go every year, as well as Memorial day time. Now, I'm the last person to say anything negative about Enid, but, the city looked bad when we were there in July. Maybe the fact that it was 115 in the shade was a factor, but, that's the norm in July. Many boarded up businesses, run-down looking places. It made me sad to see it that way. I love Enid and want to see it prosper.

^^Agreed,I am in Hutch twice a month for work and both cities are about the same population, but Hutch's downtown is far superior. What Enid has going for it is Vance AFB,but theres no doubt having been to both I'd rather live in Hutch!

Enid is actually a neat little town. Its by far the biggest city in that part of the state, but I have to wonder whether some of those folks up there aren't getting a little worried about the lost of several hundred high paying jobs from the Continental move.
