Though the AP football poll doesn't carry much weight anymore (and isn't a factor at all in the BCS formula), since it has been around for decades it provides good historical data for evaluating teams. The College Football News website has done some number-crunching to determine the greatest team since 1936, taking into account the final AP rankings for each season. Here's a link to the rankings (http://cfn.scout.com/2/1097657.html). Sooner fans will be happy. Can't wait to finally get the season started.

And, for what it's worth, OU has now been ranked preseason number one 10 times by AP which is the most of any team.

The only things it shows is respect from the national media, which isn't a bad thing.
