Okay, I just want to kick off this discussion to read what everyone has to say.

I watched a movie, Arctic Blast, and its real frightening that it can happen. What is the status of our Ozone Layer as a whole? Is it really dangerously thin? Has it been improved or still on the decline? I know there has not been a rift (opening hole), but wonder if that a real possibility anytime soon within our lifetime? The coldest place on Earth is above us and if a rift split wide open in the Ozone Layer, all that -100 to -150 degrees air will spill downward toward us and flash-freeze everything/everyone to death.

The hole/weakening is a problem, but I wouldnt be too concerned with cold air being the primary problem...

I know this is going to sound bizarre but we know there is Ozone depletion. We know how to make Ozone. Why not build an Ozone plant near the depleted areas to replenish it? Or are there different types of Ozone? We have Ozone alert days where there is too much Ozone.

Ozone needs to be in the right place, and it doesn't just go there when you make it.
