A lot of stuff closing lately but I think that's just been because there's been so much opening in the last 5 years. Eventually, some of those places just aren't going to make it. Sad to see this one go though.

Exactly right.

When you open hundreds of places in just a few years, some will close.

And at the same time, there are still scores of new places opening all the time.

In fact, the Market at Commonplace will open very soon in The Edge.

In fact, the Market at Commonplace will open very soon in The Edge.

And the fact that part of it is crowd-funded means more people have a desire to tell their friends about it and constantly try to use it themselves so they don't lose their investment...

Native Roots has been permanently closed for a while, and last night I noticed a dumpster.

Not sure what is coming next.

that's really sad. i used to go to them once a week when they were in norman, and hated it when they left, and still found a way to make it up there about once a month for stuff.

I think the Wheeze Juice place in OKSEA down the street is moving in here.

Under the old regime, I couldn't see it happening without a gas station. Now that they're corporate I could see it someday.

Based on what I could see through the windows of the storefront yesterday, I believe you are 100% correct.

Wheeze the Juice closes Wednesday at their current location in OKSea.

I asked the owner if they still planned to move to the bigger space in Level, and he said they were going to take a break before deciding what to do.

Work inside had stopped some time ago.

That space just seems *massive* for a juice/smoothie bar.

Looks like Weeze the Juice is going to take this space after all.

that's great news! I forgot to come by and mention that I walked by there the other day and they were putting their menu up. Cannot wait to get that corner activated again

They told me that they will offer smoothies, juices, food, Yerba mate, and a small market.

They plan to be open by the end of March.

the "small market" is what I heard rumors about a while ago and has me very excited

I just want better selection of smoothies. The last location was very limited, IMO. Will definitely be checking this out.

Happened to notice this place was open on April 3rd, so went in and got a smoothie, which felt comparable to previous place in that regard. Atmosphere does make it come off as a potentially good social area (akin to a coffee shop), and I did notice they had a small section for some produce, milk, eggs, wine, etc. I hope they expand on that as time goes on--not to be a full market, but having more snack foods could appeal to guests at the Aloft Hotel. And having a few more baking/cooking ingredients could help out us locals in Deep Deuce from having to make a last-minute drive to another grocery store. Really hope this does well, because seeing this and Willow Coffee open up does seem to bring back a little more livelihood to the area during the daytime.

I took these opening day, 4/1. They are now open 8-8 every day.

Almost ten bucks for a smoothie. If I drank alcohol, I would rather buy a sixer of White Claw.

I used to say the same thing until someone told me 'you pay 10 bucks for a craft cocktail at a bar that kills your liver, why wouldn't you pay 10 bucks for a craft smoothie that gives you a health boost?'

Agree it seems expensive, but that seems to be the going rate for a "premium" smoothie in OKC these days. Helps that they are very tasty and smoothies would seem to be an area where using premium ingredients would make a difference. Hope they're getting a sweetheart rate on that space - seems massive.

I have gotten a couple smoothies here since the new location and each time there is a decent amount of people here. I love the oldschool VHS tapes playing on the tiny TVs. This place has a cool nostalgic, vaporwave vibe.

The smoothies are expensive, but I look at it as a (light) meal.
