I'm going down to the Ford Center if it's at 5PM CDT tomorrow, cause they'll let the rest of us 'left behind' fans in to cheer on our Durantless led Thunder!

The nutty preacher even says it's 6:00 LOCAL time whatever that might be. God, you see, understood the need to accommodate international time zones.

well... the group claiming this believes that the world has been in 'tribulation' since may 21, 1988 and that 23 year period will culminate in the 'rapture' on may 21, 2011. next there will be 5 months of judgment and then on october 21st the world will be destroyed.

let's just say that i'm more than a little skeptical. -M

So, theoretically, if things start to go bad in Australia, say around 4:00 a.m. our time tomorrow, then we'll know whether we need to prepare or not! Good, that means at least 11 more ours of debauchery for me. (I keed, I keed).

I can die now, because I have seen it all:

Yes - a website set up to have pets cared for whose owners have been raptured...

If there really was a rapture, the people left behind would probably eat the pets in the chaos and anarchy that follows.

I should go out to the club tonight and just let it all out. Enjoy my last night out and do whatever I want.

Just found out he can't make it. However, I plan on talking to him later tonight, so if you don't mind, could I come by and pick up the cookies so we can have a snack during our chat time?

Any one want to lay money the old man still gets thousands of suckers to buy into this?

Harold Camping will not stop warning of the impending Rapture, no matter how many times he is wrong. The doomsday preacher and radio-show host came out of hiding Monday and said the end of the world will be October 21, not May 21 as he previously predicted. He had earlier said Oct. 21 would be the day the Earth would be consumed by a fireball. On his show Monday, Camping said the Rapture did begin May 21, just in a “spiritual” and not “physical” way. “But it won’t be spiritual on Oct. 21,” Camping said. Camping’s incorrect prediction of the Rapture was not the first time he’s been wrong—he previously predicted the end of the world would be in 1994, but then attributed that to a mathematical error.

What explains his motivation? Are there fools sending him money?

He runs a big national radio network, with one small station in Oklahoma in Enid, so he can beg for lots of money over it and for various reasons or causes. Their other controversial theme seems to be to promote creationism. Doing that probably is less harmful to America than another religious radio network, Amercan Family Radio, which is frequently anti-gay and promotes boycotts.
