Silly question I know but I can't seem to find the answer anywhere. I see ballot question in 2004 that exempted sales tax on tobacco but I don't know if that's still in effect.

I figured somebody on here would know.

thanks

Yes, there is a state excise tax on tobacco. Taxes are paid by the wholesalers to the state before they reach the convenience stores so there isn't any additional tax when you purchase a tobacco product.

I thought Tobacco products sold at an Native American shop had no taxes!Thats just what I heard, but it might be wrong!

Native American shops are subject to a much lesser tax.
