That IS cool! In still photography, people are using a device called a "Lensbaby" to get that effect. I would guess that's how this was done, too, and the video was shot with a DSLR that had video capabilities.

That is really cool.

I found a web site with instructions on how to do it. Here is my first attempt. I need to play with it some more to give more of the model look.

Awesome! They look like matchbox cars on a model freeway.

Pretty cool stuff. I just ordered a Lensbaby for my D7000. The frame rate also has alot to do with the effect.

So if you put the lensbaby on you can produce this effect at the time the photo is taken instead of having to do it photoshop? I have been trying to get up to speed on this techinque over the last few days and one of the things I have found is that it is just as important to tweak the colors as it is to do the blurring. Can you do that at the time of image capture as well?

For my Nikon this has a list price of $250. I think I detect a birthday present.

You'll still need to play with the saturation and curves in photoshop for a still. I'm also interested in the video I get with lensbaby. Again, I'll have to tweak the colors in Final Cut Pro.

My Vignette app on my Android phone makes tilt-shift photos. It takes all of about 2 seconds.

Yeah, but the effect isn't nearly as believable. I do like the simplicity of the tilt shift apps. But I usually have to load them into a second program to do more adjustments.

Sid - That was pretty good. Is that how it came out of the camera? Can you shoot video with it or stills only?
