The higher they are, the closer you are to the stage. The band has a VIP package that includes meet and greet with the band on their website. Yeah the new project is great. We have been spinning "Girl Panic!" on RadioOKC. Has kind of a 'Rio' feel to it. Cheers! Chris http://www.radiookc.com stratosphere 02-22-2011, 05:16 PM Thanks. All of the new songs remind me of their good 80's stuff, and i made the Rio connection as you mentioned. 'The Man that Stole a Leopard' is just an awesome song, not sure what it reminds me of, just good good stuff. Lord Helmet 02-25-2011, 12:49 PM I snagged the new record based on some of the posts here. I'm pleasently surprised. It sounds like a real Duran Duran record ala Rio or Seven and the Ragged Tiger. Much better than their last two records IMHO. RadioOKC 02-25-2011, 11:10 PM I snagged the new record based on some of the posts here. I'm pleasently surprised. Matt 03-18-2011, 09:10 AM Set list from last night's gig in Austin: View To A Kill Being Followed Notorious All You Need Hungry like the Wolf Friends Of mine Safe The Chauffeur Ordinary World Girl Panic ! Sunrise Wild Boys -- Runaway/Girls on Film No Reflex, no sale! RadioOKC 03-18-2011, 11:56 AM I was really kinda hoping for more from the setlist. It will be interesting to see what they do down in Thackerville. It should be a good gig. BBC had a really nice review of the new CD basically saying that this is "the one" that DD has needed. Chris www.radiookc.com Matt 03-18-2011, 12:32 PM I was really kinda hoping for more from the setlist. I know, right? No Reflex, no Save a Prayer, no friggin' Rio?! I know they've had a long career and all, and they can't play everything, I get that, but jeez, those are some really big hits they didn't play. Maybe they'll change it up a bit tonight. Lord Helmet 03-19-2011, 12:38 AM setlist from tonight?? OkieHornet 03-19-2011, 11:20 AM got this off setlist.fm: All You Need Is Now Being Followed The Reflex Notorious Safe (In the Heat of the Moment) Friends Of Mine Leave a Light On Ordinary World Mediterranea Girl Panic! Careless Memories (Reach Up For The) Sunrise Wild Boys Rio Encore: A View To A Kill Girls on Film stratosphere 03-19-2011, 01:57 PM That sounds about right. 'Hungry Like the Wolf' was missing, but other than that it was a really solid performance. I think the 2 or 3 songs that stood out for me were 'All you need is now', 'ordinary world, & 'mediterranea'. Thats kinda strange considering they did play Rio & Girls on Film. Just goes to show how good they are i suppose... WHO'S YOUR FKNG DADDY? ;) ljbab728 03-19-2011, 11:16 PM That sounds about right. My apologies if i have offended anyone. But in my defense it's not like i spelled it out or anything....wow. BTW anyone who was at the concert the other night knows exactly where it came from. But moving on, YouTube will be streaming a live Duran Duran show (directed by David Lynch) Wednesday night at 9:00 Central. http://www.youtube.com/duranduranvevo v6n_XJI0h5c ljbab728 03-21-2011, 10:07 PM Matt, there are no words you can type, say, or think of that I haven't used myself on various occasions but not in a public civic forum like this one. This is not an anything goes chat room. It's a discussion forum and everyone can certainly get their points across without crass language. I realize stratosphere meant no offense and I was not personally offended. It's just not an approriate place. stratosphere 03-22-2011, 07:13 PM Matt, there are no words you can type, say, or think of that I haven't used myself on various occasions but not in a public civic forum like this one. Lets move on okay? :) RadioOKC 04-17-2011, 10:20 PM One more post on this subject. Caught DD in concert live in Youtube from Coachella. You latenighters can catch the replay at 12:45AM. Great set, but I found the backround singer to be annoying and distracting. I wont spoil the encore, but if you're a movie buff you will want to see it. Chris www.radiookc.com stratosphere 04-19-2011, 05:31 PM thanks for the heads-up |
