Many of those were after my prime cartoon viewing years although I remember them but some like Popeye were pre 1960 cartoons.

Does anyone remember a cartoon where the good guy starts losing his power and lights up a smoke and he's strong again? I think it was called "Tobar the 8th Man" or something like that. Had to be around 65-67 and I don't remember it staying on the air too long.

Can you imagine something like that today? Light up a smoke and you have super human powers! I would imagine that the cig. co's had to have something to do with this cartoon. Back then they wanted to start kids young it seemed.

Many of those were the death of real cartoons; Speed Racer, Scooby Doo, Johnny Quest, any super hero's. When I see cartoons I want to be amused, not solving a crime, or any with a moral. Now Bullwinkle had some fun and said they had moral.

It is called Boomerang - if your cable company doesn't offer it switch to DirecTV. The Jetsons are on right now but you will need to wait until 2AM to see the Banana Splits.
