I haven't heard anything about Maker's, but I know the Tax Commission has become VERY aggressive against businesses that fail to pay their taxes. I don't remember the number, but a study showed there are hundreds of millions in uncollected sales tax from businesses in the state. OTC is cracking down.

I read over at the restaurants thread that Leo's BBQ was closed last week (both locations) by the OTC.

I've seen Georgiou inside Penn Square closed 3 times in 2010 for failure to pay taxes.

hopefully its only temporary. thats the only place I go when I make it downtown

Don't worry too much. There was a flurry of this type of activity a year or so ago and all the places opened back up, even the Thai Kitchen.

They owe the state $267,000.00

Maker’s Cigar Lounge and Piano Bar, 100 Oklahoma Ave., in Bricktown was ordered closed Nov. 29 by the Oklahoma County District Court for non-compliance of payment of sales taxes totaling more than $267,000.

Looks like they have been having trouble since 2006.
