It is just part of the self-absorbed society. Coming home from work yesterday in slow/stop-n-go traffic down Mopac (N/S highway on the west side of Austin) there was a guy in a Corolla behind me watching something on his iPhone (in a white case) almost the whole way. I was watching him do this in my mirror for a good 9 miles, since I ride motorcycles I have learned to watch my mirrors quite a bit looking for the inattentive non-stopper. I make it a priority to watch the traffic around me (more motorcycle awareness) and see people all the time on their devices not paying attention.

I still think everyone should have to ride a motorcycle/scooter for a few years before driving a car to understand the awareness you need to operate a vehicle properly...that and cars are probably "too safe" anymore because it seems most people have an air on invincibility while driving in their safety bubbles that they fail to realize what ramifications their bad decisions can have.

Yep....I just assume everyone is going to pull a boneheaded move at any time...
