I have some friends coming in town to hang out in OKC this weekend because there is so much going on and I think it shows how far OKC has come:

Thursday, 10.07-Sunday, 10.10:
Oklahoma Regatta Festival - http://oklahomariverevents.org/oklahoma-regatta-festival

Friday, 10.08:
- Muse/Passion Pit concert - http://www.okfordcenter.com/events/index.cfm?page=calendar&event_id=104&fs=1

Saturday, 10.09:
- Plaza District Festival - http://plazadistrictfestival.com/

- Deep Deuce Music Festival - http://www.welcometobricktown.com/wp_blog/first-annual-deep-deuce-music-festival-set-for-october-9th/

- Randy Rogers at Wormy Dog

How many of these things would be happening 15 years ago? There are several other things going on that I didn't even mention, but all these events are the sign of a vibrant city. These are the type of events that will keep people in their 20s and 30s from moving to Dallas or other places. I'm really excited about the future with the development of authentic, local (esp. the local music festivals) things to do. I hope some of you attend these events.
