I just got me a Siamese kitten from the shelter, pretty blue eyes, and he behaves like a dog, wants to be everywhere I go, and actually will fetch a toy ball! It's hilarious. I am allergic also, but still wanted a kitty! They are so clean compared to a dog!

Lower your expectations a few notches.

What do you mean Mid? lol So far, seems to be clean. I got him the robot litter box, it's awesome! Google it. He does not shed at all, I think that is because of the food I feed him. So far no messes. I have had him for 3 weeks.

I was out there and the traffic was crazy. Parking was full and overspilled along 29th.

There was a very young 6-8 weeks old kitten in a crate in the back of a truck under the hot Oklahoma sun. Mom and I just stood there with the kitten, cuz he was crying and panting so hard. Finally a cowboy came out with a 2nd kitten and then went back inside. She told him it is too hot for the kitten!

I'm having a hard time believing that(at a high of 83F) it was too hot outside today for *any* animal, particularly an animal who's normal body temp is 100.5 - 102.5 F...

Well, he was panting hard when we came out, crying, and begged hard to get out.

I'm a cat person, but a friend of mine who is NOT had an interesting observation:

If your Labrador Retriever grew by a factor of 10 overnight, he would still try to sit in your lap.

If your cute little kitten grew by a factor of 10 overnight, he would try to eat you.

Heat seems unlikely since it wasn't in the 90s or 100+ (now if the kitten was in the closed cab of the truck, in the sun, different story) but other reasons come to mind. The panting may have been due to stress or lack of water? Crying to get out? Just didn't like being confined or wanted to be petted/picked up/played with etc. Lots of possibilities.

Whatever the case may be, I am really glad to hear that they had a good turnout!!
