I hope he does find a way to save his house but I have to wonder why an 82 year old man would want a house that large for just himself even if it holds a lot of memories. If I was finding myself in his situation, I think I would have been trying to sell the house long ago before I was in such a bad financial situation and find something smaller and more affordable. It is surely worth much more than he owes on it.

The article says his daughter and her husband live with him (though the article didn't explain if they are financially contributing to the mortgage in any way) and his wife only died in 2009. He also faced several unexpected financial strains. Sad he apparently didn't invest, even in his own retirement.

I used to work with his daughter as Sound Warehouse. She has had various medical problems over the years including being in a coma and partially paralyzed in a horse accident. I believe she has recovered from the paralysis but may still have some special needs for which the house has been modified for.

Someone ought to raise a fund for him--he had lots of fans going way back--maybe Steve Lackmeyer would try to use his OPUBCO connections to help spread the word...he was an icon--going way back to when I was a kid--and I am 61...LET'S HELP THE COUNT! Gotta be something we can do to help an old friend...
