I've searched and figured this was the best place to finally check.

Does anyone know what the big billboard with the red "M" and the words "It's Here" is for??? I've seen it on Interstate 35 and both the north and south ends of town...

Thanks.

I think it's marketing for Mid-America Christian Univeristy's adult degree program. There's a similar billboard on I-44 near OCCC that has the same red "M" and the words, "It's Time".

Are these the ones that were also at one time saying, "The End is Near"?

You're right... I think it is "It's time" I saw it at NE50th or so, and the yesterday coming in from Moore/Norman....

Thanks.

There was an article in the Journal Record about the Ad agency that produced those ads the other day. It was interesting look at their work environment and some of the strategy that went into that campaign.

While I remember the billboard, does it really do any good if I have no idea what they're advertising?

I expect they will add the MACU name to the billboards in another week or two after it has piqued your interest. Kinda cheesy IMO.

No the End is Near campaign is over. It was a series of 3 campaign. It ended up being the end of ER waiting is near. It was a campaign about St. Anthony's online ER checkin and appointment requesting service. Brilliant strategy. And to the poster above who asked if it's effective if you don't know what it is advertising. Methods like that prove very effective because people pay more attention on average and will keep looking every time they drive by that spot until they figure it out. If it was your average billboard, you would have tuned it out and probably not have even noticed it.

Brilliant strategy.

the advertising campaign? or the whole requiring the patient to have the foresight to schedule an emergency for an extra $25?

the ad campaign. the whole having to wait in an ER room period gripes me, but we can thank our broken system for that. Obamacare will only escalate it exponentially.

Did you come up with term "Obamacare" on your own or did someone cone up with the term for you? So annoying.

No the End is Near campaign is over.

So does that mean we're at the End?

Oh yeah, and god forbid people have access to healthcare...sheesh dumb suck people.

This is just total, complete BS. You're suggesting that people having health insurance will increase waiting times in ERs? This is actually more stupid than the usual tripe you hear from the braindead Republicans running for office in this state. "Obamacare" has nothing to do with hospital administration. Nothing.

You may not agree with the methods of HCR, but come on. Do you believe in death panels, too? It's true, there are socialist death camps being prepped right now for you. We're coming to get you!

MACU must be doing things right, they just opened a new campus around 116th and N. Broadway.

I woulda thought the market for this was already oversaturated...seems there are numerous choices already so I'm curious what MACU is/will be doing differently.

MACU is specializing in education for "working adults who want to finish their degree."

just because they have a commuter location doesn't mean they must be doing things right.
