In a report released by bundle.com Oklahomans rank 13th (1 being the most spent) in the amount of money they spend for eating out, clothing, pets, Etc. (does not include mortgage or rent however).

The report notes Oklahomans come in at 13th due to their giving to charity more than any other state.

Assets : Bundle Report 2010: Annual household spending by state : Bundle (http://www.bundle.com/article/Assets2010-Bundle-Report-Spending-state-10140)

Just confirms what we already know - that we are all a charitable group.....

Maybe charity played a part but I think the fact that our cost of living is so low giving us more disposable income is the reason we came in at a surprisingly high rank. This is just another stat to show potential retailers and restaurants.

I agree. interesting to note from them also was that Oklahoma City residents spend more for food than Dallas, New Orleans, Chicago, to name a few but less than San Fransico, San Antonio or the #1 food spender Austin.

And we are pretty equal on the food budget with $3746 being spent dinning out and 3972 for groceries for a total food budget of $7718. While Tulsa only spends a total of $4900.

So don't know that the spending is completely related to the cost of living. Otherwise you would expect Tulsa to be closer to the Okc spending figures.

Which again supports that the information should be being presented to retails and restaurants about spending in OKC.
