Water main repair continues to cause low pressure

A 36-inch water line on Hefner Road east of Meridian broke Saturday night, and caused a 24-inch and 12-inch main in the area to also break. Crews have repaired the 24-inch and 12-inch mains, however work has yet to be completed on the larger line.

Loss of the 36-inch water line is causing low water pressure in an area bounded by Northwest 50th Street, North Portland, Northwest Highway, North Rockwell and along Northwest Highway west of Rockwell.

Water pressure is increasing in the affected area but will remain lower-than-normal until the main is repaired. Residents in Northwest Oklahoma City are asked to limit outdoor water use until the repair is completed.

Also during times of peak demand, you will have little or no pressure at all. Ie; Evening time, everyone wants to take a shower, wash a load of clothes. etc. Outside watering is banned, but that won't stop a lot people from watering. There goes what little water that's being pumped out through the lines.

Thanks for the information. I've been curious what has been taking so long and never saw any news stories about it. Hopefully it will be back to full power this weekend!
