god bless those stubborn folks who still prefer to use their ancient rotary style telephones, cause if it wasnt for them the rest of us would never be able to get a live representative whenever we phone in to many companies.

yep, calling in and pretending that you have a rotary style phone is the sure-fire way to get to a representative and not have to press any buttons to be lured into their trecherous labyrinth of frustrating recorded menus.

all it takes is just one touch of that touch-tone keypad to let their computers know that youve indeed got yourself a touch-tone phone, and not a rotary, and its off to prerecorded menu hell they send you.

.....now if some cellular company could invent a rotary-style cell phone, that would complete everything for me.

So what does one do?

So what does one do?

same as you, average everyday consumer who is fed up with companies not wanting to answer their lines when service is needed and/or questions/concerns arise.

companies like to masquerade behind a confusing labyrinth of computerized phone options.

...."press 1 for this department", ...then you press whatever option you want, and it takes you into one sub-meni after another and then another. sometimes it hangs up on you, sometimes it forms a complete circle that re-routes you back to the main menu.

pointblank, no one simply answers the phone anymore.

...unless your ordering a pizza, and then someday even they will have menu options: "press 1 for thin crust, 2 for pan, 3 for deep dish.....press 1 for pepperoni, 2 for sausage, 3 for anchovies.....press 1 for carryout, 2 for delivery,..."
