With today's Ice Storm and the recent Blizzard of 2009, I thought that the business community might like to know of a solution to power outages and tornadoes for the continuation of their business operations. The former Lucent Technologies plant, now OKCWorks, provides this solution right here in Oklahoma City.

The Business Continuity Center (BCC), within the OKCWorks Campus, answers the question, "Where will your business operate when disaster strikes?" The BCC is a backup location that a business can go to when they experience an outage emergency, which range from a tornado, to a fire, to an ice storm, and any other catastrophic business disruption. The BCC currently has 60 workstations (expandable to 250) that include computers, VOIP telephones, security cameras, kitchen/breakroom, conference room, breakout rooms, and a copy/scan/fax machine all for client's use during an emergency.

OKCWorks, previously Lucent Technologies, is a Mission Critical campus that can meet the Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery needs of Oklahoma businesses. In addition to being able to withstand a F3 Tornado the OKCWorks campus has dual, underground power feeds, physical and carrier redundant fiber, backup power generation, and campus security. The OKCWorks campus includes a 30,000 sf data center, Business Continuity Center, Records Management Department, and can facilitate any office need requiring robust security, power, and fiber.
