I noticed in today's online Journal Record that commercial passenger boardings at Will Rogers & Tulsa Int'l were at six-year lows. I couldn't read the entire article (not a subscriber), but I wonder: Were general aviation ("small airplane") flight operations up or down at Wiley Post and Jenks Riverside?

Overall, we have been down at Wiley Post last year. But looking at the statistics, for the 2009 year up to November (latest stats):

*Commercial activity at Wiley Post is up 66% (1,082 ops per year to date 2009, versus 653 ops year to date 2008).

*Air Taxi activity is up 35% at Wiley Post (4,891 YTD 2009, 3,619 YTD 2008)

*General Aviation is down 9.49% at Wiley Post (56,928 YTD 2009, 62,900 YTD 2008)

*Military Activity is up 12% at Wiley Post (2,425 YTD 2009, 2,170 YTD 2008)

All operations: 65,326 YTD 2009, 69,342 YTD 2008, resulting in a net -5.79%.

Sky - That's great information, and thank you. I was playing a hunch that GA was up simply because flying commercially is such a pain. There probably won't be a measurable tipping point where typical travelers switch from Southwest & JetBlue to NetJets and American Jet Charter, but I'm sure that a few people have.
