Have you seen the ads for this movie? It's based on a company that was founded here in OKC. It stars Harrison Ford & Brendan Fraser. I worked for that company, Novazyme, when it was just starting out. It was later acquired by Genzyme, but is still located at the Presbyterian research park near the HSC. Brendan's character is John Crowley, which is the real name of the guy the movie is based on, but Harrison Ford's character, Dr. Stonehill, is based on a guy named Dr. William Canfield, who is still here in OKC.

Just a little FYI.

There's an interesting article about the movie and its Oklahoma City ties ... which, according to the article, makes no mention of the latter fact, here: NewsOK (http://newsok.com/oklahoma-had-role-that-film-overlooks/article/3422917?custom_click=columnist)

Hah. When I first read that, I thought it said "It stars Harrison Ford as Brendan Fraser". I thought "he's a little old to be playing an actor younger than him". :)

"He was pretty excited about it. Bill [Canfield] is usually really reserved, but this was something worth mentioning. He doesn’t usually chit-chat aimlessly.”

that's an understatement.
