I'm kind of surprised this hasn't been posted yet. KWTV had an interesting report on federal subsidies for the river boats.

Saw it, read it, still can't believe it. I have no problem w/improving the river for the rowing, and even speed boats, but for federal dollars to be spent for the "ferry" on the Oklahoma River is beyond amazing. Can think of LOTS of projects on which the money would be better spent.

For FY/09-10 under the programs positions and budget, it showed 1 position at a cost of $700,000. That must be a pretty good gig. I wonder if they are hiring?
