It's hard to imagine they are going to start moving in and even open the food court in three weeks!

But at the rate they are moving, I'm sure it will look a lot different then.

You can see, for example, just how dirty the windows are in the rotunda. Just cleaning the glass and all the other surfaces will be a massive undertaking.

Hard to believe that we'll simply be able to walk in there in less than a month.

Great photos. Not that I'm a shill for OKCBiz, but the magzine did a story on CHK's restaurants. CHK puts a lot of emphasis on their employees, and they do a great job with creating a "campus" environment, complete with lots of perks that makes employees feel special and part of the team. I think they are doing noble things.

Pete, thanks for posting some of my pics. I know it may look like a long way to go, but the Garden Wing is almost done. In some of my pictures on my photobucket that didn't get posted, you can see the interior of the Garden Wing.

I cropped one of Will's photos to show something that I had long suspected: That red/orange railing in the auditorium lobby is just painted lumber. I hope the permanent one is a similar color because it provides a dramatic contrast to all the glass and steel:

Good points but it also has to be said that Chesapeake chose a location that would isolate them while Devon chose a location that would allow them to bring the public into their facilities.

With their budget, I'm sure they could have gone anywhere they wanted, so just maybe this is what they wanted, a non-public campus, not every Company wants people traipsing about. That said, they certainly are civic minded and have done a lot of good in OKC.

This.

Flat dry land, cactus, tumble weeds, cowboys, belt buckles, cowboy boots just screams a Southwestern culture and that is exactly what Texas and Oklahoma are. Heck, look at University of Texas's football games. The entire band has southwestern clothes on and wear cowboy hats. They prance around with a long horn steer as a mascot. People walk around saying "Howdy Partner". Pre game festivities have the feel of being at a rodeo.

Sandridge is on higher ground. Not sure, but City Place used to have a rotating 'time and temp' sign on top of their building, maybe that is the difference.

I got some cool shots on the old I-40 this morning and afternoon. I totally went out in the middle of the highway. Where else can you do that in a major city? Steve told me on Wednesday, they are going to let people go out there and take photos one last time but I haven't seen an article.

We spent time at Coney Island, then went driving around the blocks south of the old I-40 in the Core to Shore demolition area looking at the completely neglected but interesting buildings around there. Stuff that I've driven past a hundred times but never stopped. Honestly, that's not a great area to be walking around. Last thing I need is someone saying "I want that camera you got there", then end up stabbed and left between one of the abandoned buildings there. Plus you have the eerie forever silent hulking mass of concrete called I-40 that adds to the strangeness.

It was strange enough seeing the eastbound lane vacant when we came through with the moving truck earlier this month.

It reminds me of some of the pics taken after the evacuation but right before hurricane Ike hit near Houston. It was eerie seeing highways and Downtown Houston almost completely vacant.
