It's an old European tradition. Originally they would put Christmas type trees up at the end of a project to signal a roof was completed, however in the states, commercial projects tend to put it up there until the roof is completed, signaling when construction is done. If you noticed the commercial building that is going up on Broadway Ext., I believe between Britton and Hefner, you would have noticed a pine tree atop it for many months, not sure if it is still there. It died after a few weeks, but they still kept it up there for months. |
