it seems for some reason i vaguely recall him doing something not so admireable during his term as governor, but i cant recall what it was.

He upsetted his fellow Republicans very, very severely by wanting to provide increased funding to the public schools in Oklahoma. They tried to show he was wrong by taking his plan to the voters to say no to. Instead, to their bitter disappointment, voters said YES.

Another thing Republicans couldn't stand about Bellmon as governor was he did not care much about bringing Right to Work to Oklahoma, calling it a red herring.

Nice man. Not nearly as partisan as some other folks, conserv and liberal alike.
