Notice how the league HQ will be based in Tulsa. That's good for the state, although probably minimal impact.

I guess if you want to get technical, no. AFL itself is dead. However, the new AF1 will have the OKC team part of it. So I guess in a way we are, but really it is just AF2 moving a dozen or so teams (plus a few old AFL teams) into a higher tier division and calling it something else.

Some other discussion was also in: http://www.okctalk.com/other-pro-sports/18724-arena-football-rip.html

This. Even with the dreaded "wild-west connotations", Wranglers was an infinitely better name.

Arena Football One will be a mix of former AFL and af2 teams, with Chicago as the largest market. Tampa, Fla., Arizona, Cleveland, Orlando, Dallas and Utah -- all former AFL locations -- will also be represented in the new league.

The league will also have teams in smaller markets such as Spokane, Wash., Oklahoma City, Tulsa, Okla., Milwaukee and Bossier-Shreveport, La. League offices will be in Tulsa.

I think Jacksonville, FL was also added to the mix. We got some info in the mail about 2 season tickets for $120. I think we are going to get them.

A few years after the Oklahoma Wranglers folded, Austin was granted an expansion franchise (after the NFL investment) and it was named the Wranglers. It folded after 2 or 3 seasons.
