I'm surprised that this hasn't been written up here yet, but I drove by Sunday afternoon (9/20/2009) and the parking lot was full.

Who can give us a review?

I went today for lunch and the place was very busy. However I was a bit disappointed. They did not give us queso with our chips, but maybe if you ask for it they will?

The prices for lunch start at $7.99 and the food was pretty good. I would say a step up from the standard mexican place (Ricky's Cafe, etc) but a step down from Ted's or Pablono.

The person I went with got a taco lunch and really enjoyed the tacos. I had the cheese enchiladas (that is what I always got at the old one) and they were good, however a little small for $7.99.

I will say the sopapilla was prob the best I have ever had!

With all that, yes I will go back. I think it is the best mexican place in that area and it is close to my work. I wish them all the success!

Here are some pictures I took of the menu:

PS: I don't know why image shack rotated the pics... Guess you will have to work a little harder to read them ;)

I was very nonplussed by my experience. I let the waiter know that:

The cheese enchi, the cornerstone Tex-Mex dish to evaluate all Tex-Mex dishes, was bland and institutional. The cheese was lumpy; the corn tortilla cold and soggy. The beans were lifeless; rice not all that.

The salsa lacked any bite.

The only good part of the meal was the sopapilla at the end.

Keep in mind i love Tex-Mex and was a pretty big Laredo's fan.

The waiter was very good and told me: "We have new cook. Doesn't make it the same."

Hopefully they'll get it straightened out. They've only been open less than a week.

For those who didn't go to the old location, it wasn't always this bland.

sooners, check out others and my review in the Laredo's thread in the food section. If you ask for it, they will give you relish, queso and tortillas at no charge.

My wife and daughter went the other night. The prices are up and the quality is down. But it IS very nice inside. Back to Pepe's it is.
