There was news sometime back... Google was building a data center in Pryor, Oklahoma and then a few weeks later, Chickasaw Nation Industries (CNI), announced a data center in Norman.

Google has delayed their data center opening til at least 2010 and CNI had infinitely postponed their plans.

Are there any other data centers in Oklahoma?

Second, what techie clubs or organizations exist in the Oklahoma City area? I know there is a local chapter of AITP. (Association of Information Technology Professionals) What other ones exist?

Perimeter Technology (http://www.perimetercenter.com/) has a few datacenters in the state.
My boss has a couple of servers at their location off NW39th just west of I-44.

Perimeter Technologies has a very nice colo facility there on 39th and it has plenty of space. You'll not find a more secure building either. It's very much like a concrete bunker within a concrete bunker.

Thanks, MadMonk.

Could you please still provide any further data centers around the metro?

Many data centers are for the use of their owners. Perimiter is one that allows colo etc.

As far as clubs, take a look at the Oklahoma Chapters of ISSA, Infragard, and whatever the old OKC PC Users Group Linux/Unix Special Interest Group has become these days.

any techie clubs?

There are a few:

dc405.org - Defcon Groups - Oklahoma City, OK (http://www.dc405.org)

LUGnuts - The Oklahoma City Linux User Group (http://www.okclugnuts.org)

www.okc2600.com :: Index (http://www.okc2600.com)

There are several more that I don't know the name of I know the OKC CoCo (okccoco.com) hosts quite a few of them.

There are quite a few techie clubs in the area. Did you have something specific you were looking for?

There is a good list of community groups at the okcCoCo website: The Oklahoma City Coworking Collaborative (http://okccoco.com/?page_id=761)
