Have been noticing for some time now that some interior renovation seems to be ongoing at the old Hometown Buffet building at I-240 west of Western, with lots of cars and (apparently) other workmen buzzing around...big dumpster with lots of debris and trash....pickups near the entrance...

Anyone have any ideas what's going in over there?

I hope the resturant is coming back!

Took a peek inside the front windows of this building, and it the place has been gutted floor-to-ceiling. New wallboard was stacked near the old front entrance.

There are no signs of any permit notices, new businesses, or any indication of what's going on inside - which at least raises the question in my mind whether its being converted to office space or something similar. Nothing on which to base that - pure speculation on my part.

There is a sign hanging from the building that says "York Buffet Coming Soon"

Yeah, saw that. Did some Googling on that name and really didn't come up with much, which makes me wonder if its a locally owned group, rather than a franchise....that'd be the third bulk-food establishment to go in that building over the years...
