Not looking for a primo most excellent all the bells and whistle approach. Just hunting a plain jane, no frills, basic eye exam. Preferably one that doesn't require hocking anything to get in and back out the door.

Yeah, if you haven't guessed, I broke my newest pair tonight. Fortunately for me, I had not sent every older pair off to a Lion's Club box. Otherwise, I wouldn't be able to find the keys to type the question tonight.

I wonder if you can't schedule a Free Exam at a Laser Clinic? I've thought about it as I don't have any coverage either.

God, I miss my union coverage... I never knew what I had until I didn't have it any longer....ugh. I would have gotten a million exams before I moved here had I known! Sorry, off topic.
