"A cold front is coming. Late Sunday thru Tuesday of next week with a 10-15 degree temp drop." Mike Morgan

Let's see if this holds up. Quite bold to say the least.

When did he say that? That's a powerful cold front.

Lets hope he's right. These temps and my cold (with fever) are absolutely brutal. I can last maybe 4-5 minutes outside before getting woosy. And Im a sun lover so its driving me nuts not being outside. :kicking:

It could be worse. I grabbed these numbers off of ST. SHENANDOAH * temp. 97 dew point: 86 rel. hum. 71 29.86S HX 130 I didnt even know the dewpoint could go that (86) high.

Thats a small town in Iowa surrounded by a corn field.

That is an insane dewpoint.

So looks at the GFS...there is a front showing up Sunday morning to come through. The High Pressure will shift into SW Texas this day. Afternoon highs will be upper 80s that day. Monday looks like there is going to be some lingering activity that will keep highs in the 70s. Tuesday...yeah that's over. Back in the 90s towards 100. Rainfall doesn't look like anything. Sunday mostly dry, maybe Monday which is why GFS holds temps down. If the precip doesn't develop, yeah, not going to happen. Upper air looks like it is trying to establish a NW flow during the weekend into next week...this would be welcome, but also would set us up for the typical summertime MCS season.

I'll take rain though and anything to let my AC catch up.

Nothing showing up so far in the tropics either...so this pattern change will be our only shot in the near term. The disturbed area in the Gulf really shouldn't do much, and the moisture from Hurricane Andres off the west Mexican coast probably will get thrown north of us.

Down here in Austin we've been bumping 100 for the past month and a half and been over 100 for the past couple of weeks, I am sick of it. It is even too sticky in the morning to run with the top down on the way to work, let alone even thinking of riding the motorcycle. My "I'm ready to move to Colorado season" started early this year. We are headed to the coast this weekend, at least there is a sea breeze down there.

That's the one thing I love (not really) about forecasting the weather. It's not an exact science. His forecast last night during the 10pm newscast was for 100's through next Tuesday. Glad to know it is different now... Crossing my fingers that it stays this way!

lol...I was thinking about that today. Last year around this time we were in summit county Co. One day we had a snowball fight on the trail from a leftover snowdrift from the previous winter. The berms made of snow on the ski slopes were still 20' high. I just checked its around 56 degrees there right now. In the 40's in Pagossa wolf creek area.

I love summer in the mountains.

I know this is insane-I KNOW this- but I am giddy to be experiencing this heat. Only goes to show the power of home sickness!

No doubt! My fescue is starting to look like angel hair pasta.

Hey Venture, we were in Bermuda a couple of weeks ago and it was high 80's and they announced 107% humidity. Is this for real? Why wouldn't it top out at 100%?

I'm all for warm weather, but 105 is a bit too much. Curious, why do you wish 105 everyday?

The forecast for Sunday was 104. Nine degrees is pretty strong for summertime.

GFS is sticking with the patten shift to a NW flow starting this weekend. Keeps us pretty dry for right now, but we just need the high to shift to the west a bit more and we'll be in business.

Yeah, gone are the days when riding around in a convertible felt better than air condtitioning.

Is it just me or is this year starting out brutally hot already?

I never appreciated living by the coast - moderated temps, cool ocean breezes .. that was all I knew.. I never knew temps like this or humidity like this.. it's pretty gross and smothering at times. I feel like I can't breathe in weather like this.

Climate control ... AC - I run from the AC house to AC car to AC mall/store/movies and do it all again in reverse. I don't spend much time outdoors unless I'm at the lake, pool or water park.. and sometimes late at night.

I'm hoping the cold front will bring some relief... I can't imagine what some people who don't have AC are feeling right now.. miserable I imagine.

Yep, we hit 107 today out at the airport (Austin-Bergstrom) and 106 at the in town weather station (Camp Mabry). I saw 110 on the thermometer in my car on the way home.
