If anyone is on twitter, set your location to Tehran and your time zone to GMT +3.30. Security forces are hunting for bloggers using location/timezone searches. The more people at this location, the more of a logjam it creates for forces trying to shut Iranians' access to the internet down. Cut & paste & please pass it on to any social networks you take part in.

I don't understand this. Do we want Iranians to have Internet access or cut them off?

Well, most people WANT them to have access, because the government appears to be a faux government, and not a true democracy, so the people are telling it how it really is, so the more true information gets out the better, thus the basis of his Twitter request.

I switched mine early last week. In many ways, the information pushed through twitter has beat what is coming from traditional news sources.

The impact twitter has had on this is truly remarkable.

Also, put a green hue on your avatar. I did this by loading the pic in GIMP (you can download it for free) and color correcting by stripping out some colors and increasing the green hue 'til the proper tint was achieved.

Midtowner, pardon the stupid question, but what's the green hue on the avatar for? Sorry if this is obvious to everyone else....

It's Mousavi's campaign color, which is now the color of the larger movement.

It's kind of like a bumper sticker. Does about as much good too.

Not much we can do from the U.S. but lend moral support. Not much we should do.

If there is no difference in Foreign policy no matter who wins that election, so why do we bother voting for "the other guy"?

It's not about the policies of either person, its about the voice of the people and fair democratic elections.
