I noticed earlier today that the state highway 3A signs have been removed from northwest expressway between the lake hefner parkway & I-44. I'm wondering if ODOT is planning to renumber that section of roadway, or remove it from the state system altogether?

I noticed earlier today that the state highway 3A signs have been removed from northwest expressway between the lake hefner parkway & I-44. I'm wondering if ODOT is planning to renumber that section of roadway, or remove it from the state system altogether?

It's part of a swap - OKC takes NW Expressway and gives ODOT another stretch of roadway (somewhere on the south side, I believe).

I was under the impression it was going to be a while, but it looks like ODOT moved forward on their end...

This could be good, as it would make a mass transit line down NW Expressway much easier.
