Okay, this might totally be in the wrong place, so mods, feel free to move it!

I have an antique table that belonged to my grandmother that I've been meaning to get stripped of all the layers of paint (I know there is some avocado green under there...eeeeekkk) down to the wood and have it re-finished to be nice and pretty.

I have no idea of any good places to have this done. Any suggestions? I've never gotten this done to a piece of furniture so I'm completely lost. Thanks!

DIY, carefully, or hire it done. It's not complicated, but it's also not for the time pressed.

I'm assuming this isn't an heirloom piece (most don't end up with paint, let alone avacado green paint.

Here's some how to's:

I would do this myself, except for we're in an apartment so space is limited, especially outside space, and we don't have a garage for this kind of stuff. We don't get much of a breeze even if we open windows, and I can just see the cats getting loopy from fumes already...

As for heirloom...it's just a table. My grandmother had it, then my mom, and I took it when I went to college. I'm sure it has no value except for that which is sentimental.

Step 1: Locate friend with garage
Step 2: Determine fav pizza and beverage combo of friend
Step 3: Exchange step 2 for step 3
Step 4: Once table is done, invite friend over for more pizza

Friends will loan you their garage for pizza and beer
Good friends will let you bury something underneath it
Best friends take care of everything on the sly while you're at a gathering with 150 potential alibi witni.

LOL @ Kevin's friend analogy.

A good friend will bail you out of jail
Your best friend will be sitting there beside you wishing a good friend would show up with bail money.

Any good places to get it done for the non DIY's out there? (that's me)
