Not holding my breath; however, Chicago had about an 8% chance in last year's lottery and plucked the grand prize!

A minister will represent us at the lottery, Lord, please tell me that this is a good sign?

We will hold out for the Thunder!(:)

Seriously? Boy, do we live up to stereotypes or what?

Good for him though.

"Randy Roper, a Family Life Minister at Edmond Church of Christ, has won the Thunder’s NBA Draft Lottery Challenge, the on-line contest in which fans submitted a seven-word entry explaining why they were the most creative and enthusiastic fan to attend the lottery."

El Gato Pollo Loco:

Thanks for clearing that up! I was under the impression that he might actually be involved in getting one of the balls. My BAD!

When I voted, you jsut voted for their entry, I didn't know who the people were really. I don't think anyone "selected" a minister as much as a minister happened to submit the winning entry.

If he were a accountant would it make any difference? It was just a contest for two lucky fans to attend the lottery folks. The Thunder is a privately owned business, they can do what they want regardless.

Let us hope the Thunder is the last name revealed today...

We get the #3 pick. Oh well, Thabeet will be a good consolation prize.

but Memphis has got OJ Mayo.....we might get Rubio

They also have Darrell Arthur and Rudy Gay. They might trade down to get James Harden or the kid from USC. It would be good for LA to take Blake because they have Gordon and Thornton. Although Mike Taylor hasn't blown anyone away so maybe they might want Rubio instead. I wonder if we could trade up to get Blake?

I'd like to pass on Rubio and take Thabeet...Have enough offense so I would welcome his presence in the paint...Dude may never be a scorer but there is no denying he can change games on D...One thing we consistently sucked at all year long

Would have been a huge night for us Okies but oh well...3rd ain't bad

I would also pass on Rubio and take Thabeet. If he puts on about 10-15lbs of muscle, works on his offense... he'll be unstoppable. Regardless he'll be a nice addition to our team.

Is there any legit way we trade for Blake?

Possibly if they want Thabeet or Rubio (whichever we get) and we could give them our other first round pick and one from next year as well. I am sure Presti is working the phones as we speak.

The only factor that gives a trade an even remote chance is the Clippers already have Zach Randolph...They are paying him a lot of money and from what I've read would be hard for them to unload him

Still I think the Thunder would have to give up Westbrook along with the 3rd pick to land the only elite player in the entire draft...Very doubtful

Let's give Presti's plan time to develop. He knows basketball! Life will go on without a Blake Griffin in Oklahoma City, I wish the best for Blake and his family.

This is the right attitude to have.

(But I still want Blake. :kicking: )

Yeah...From what I've heard that ole LeBron thing has kinda worked out well for Cleveland...Sux to be that close to landing him...Would have been huge for the city

True! But it would be even BIGGER for the city/team to get a position the team actually needs.

Not as much as you think...Most players take a few years to develop and lord knows there will be a lot of turnover here since we are such a small market

Watson410

My point is this... We build for the future, not next season and the season after. We get a position the team actually needs like a 2 or 5 (Let that player develop a 1-2 years). Make good moves in free agency then we have a good team for 4-7 years, which in return the city supports the team (which is good for the city). Now if Blake were to come, it would be good for the city only for the fact he's from OKC and played at OU. The Thunder would have to give up WAY to much just to get a position that they don't even need. (i.e. #3 pick, #25 pick and "a future sixth man of the year" Jeff Green) So in my eyes it would be better to not break the bank on one position/player the Thunder doesn't need.

Definitely agree with that Watson...Thunder would be stupid to give up Westbrook or Green to get him...Was just saying it would have been huge to land the top pick is all
