Wait, Arlene Francis was on "I've Got a Secret". Kitty Carlisle was on that
show, too.

Come to think of it, everybody but me was on "I've Got a Secret".

I have no idea who was on "What's My Line?" but I watched it quite a lot.

Do you guys remember the Alfred Hitchcook show???? or the original Twilight Zone.....That one sometimes scared me a little bit...like when the Gargoyles were outside the Plane hanging on the wings.......Or when the women beat her husband to death with a frozen sausage and then cooked the sausage and served it to the investigating police Officers....No Murder weapon anywhere....That was a long time ago.....You know, I never paid a lot of attention to the upcoming rock 'n roll singers and bands...I had gone Country in about '63....One day my new wife (same one I'm married to now) told me about this new "rocker".....Rod Stewart:......I just laughed and said I had heard of him a long time ago but he was a writer....you know Rod Sterling....The Twilight Zone....Duh:..........4 EVR Young.

I remember Alfred Hitchcock Presents very well. By the way, it was a leg of
lamb. Not a sausage.

They tried to redo his program. They were terrible. What the producers
didn't realize was that Hitch was all about suspense. What you thought
you saw was just as important than what you really saw.

A popsicle! Oh, you said water...

The person was murdered with a single stab. There was no struggle and the police were having a problem with the case. The glass was empty before the Murder but, being a Icy night the assailant stabbed the person with an Icicle and put the icicle in the glass and it melted into drinking water.....Welcome to Alfred Hitchcock's mind....

Do you remember the Timex commercials with John Cameron Swayze? I
remember them strapping one to the leg of a horse and it dived into a pool.
Another time was when one was strapped to Mickey Mantle's bat.

It does help us newbies -

moved here from california in '60, remember Topper as one of the earliest - had Cleo the talking basset right?

Ran thru the thread real quick and don't remember seeing a couple -maybe these didn't show in ok - or maybe i just ran passed them and missed them

Highway Patrol
Francis the Talking Mule
and there was a weird kid's show on sat. - the guy sat on a throne and had a croaky voice and a puppet named froggy???

Was it Dragnet that had the sweaty hand that clanked with the sledgehammer at the end of every show?
What show had Elliot Ness and the g-men?
Penny of Sky King was my first tv sweet heart - soon followed by Annette -
My first really funny (non-kid rascals/stooges kinda show) - Steve Allen!!! surely youtube has the Zappa bicycle thing...

Spring Byington was in a lot of movies. There was an oater that she was in.
Laramie? High Chaparall? Gunsmoke?

Wasn't Topper a 70's show? A spin off of that movie with Cary Grant of the

Spring Byington was the star of The December Bride and the next door neighbor was Henry Morgan. Topper was about a Ghost that lived in a house that a newly married couple had bought and they had a Saint Bernard.

My favorite Andy Devine story:

Cats and pigs fared no better from Andy's youth. In a greased pig contest Andy, no small lad, squashed the pig when he fell on it. Disposing of a feral cat for a local judge, Andy and a friend tied a stick of dynamite to the poor creature and lit the fuse. When the cat followed them, they ran for cover in a house but the cat crawled under the house. Fortunately for the boys and the homeowner the cat took cover in a woodshed by the time the fuse, the cat, and the woodshed expired.

His dad was instrumental in getting 66 to run through Kingman....

I was on the HO HO show. What I remember about the show was you brought a toy to the show and then HO HO traded you for one of his toys. I didn't like my trade. Also, there was a stuffed monkey suspended on a cable over the kids on the show that would lower into view every so often causing us kids to holler and point. One of my buddies from school (I still remember his name after all these years) kept his eye out on the monkey and when it came down he was under it and grabbed it by the tail. HO HO freaked and started hollering "let go"--"let go".
