I never got this, could someone explain to me why the Gaylords are evil?

or a better question, where the heck did that name originate from?

first, they are native Oklahoma Citians. They took the majority of their corporation and snubbed the homeland. Second. Their newspaper is not a good value for the money. They have the funds to make it compete with other major newspapers in the United States.

Third, they have taken our tax dollars and deposited them into their pockets for many years and used their monopoly of the media to encourage it and cover it up.

I don't hate people that make lots of money. In fact, I really, really respect it. However, the way that Gaylord made his money was not through capitalism. It was through corruption, greed and the use and manipulation of government officials. He offered no value back to the public for what he did during his lifetime.

Gaylord ran the OIA, the three cases above involved the OIA. The three cases above also are about as blatant examples of public corruption as I can think of. And you know what? He used his newspaper to get a new attorney general that dropped all pending litigation against him.

So yeah, there are many good reasons to not like what he did (and his family to a degree still does) to this city.
