I just ran across this file regarding the OKC bike trail system that was proposed in the 90s. Being away from OKC, I was wondering if any of this was ever built.

Oklahoma City Trails Master Plan
Listing of Trails Corridors & Projected Development Costs
Trail Name Length (mi) Low Cost High Cost Phase
Lake Hefner Trail, 9.23 mi., $1,615 $2,077 F
Bricktown Canal Trail, 1.10 mi., $193 $248 F
North Canadian Central Greenway, 12.24 mi., $2,142 $2,754 F
South Grand Boulevard Trail (3 miles) $525 $675 F
Hefner/Overholser Trail, 4.84 mi., $847 $1,089 E
Nichols Hills Trail, 3.79 mi., $663 $853 E
Deep Fork Greenway, 4.06 mi., $711 $914 E
Lake Overholser Trail, 7.13 mi., $1,248 $1,604 E
West I-44 Trail, 6.85 mi., $1,199 $1,541 E
Lincoln Robinson Link, 7.34 mi., $1,285 $1,652 E
Katy Trail, 5.71 mi., $999 $1,285 E
South Grand Boulevard Trail (7 miles) 7.02 $1,229 $1,580 E
Tinker/Draper Lake Trail, 9.15 mi., $1,601 $2,059 E
Lightning Creek Trail, 4.85 mi., $849 $1,091 E
Earlywine Trail, 4.66 mi., $816 $1,049 E
Draper Lake Trail, 12.66 mi., $2,216 $2,849 E

My memory is failing me now, but I seem to remember reading that this was a 50 year plan. At the time, I thought that seemed a bit ridiculous as most of us will be dead in 50 years. Nonetheless, has any of this been built? Have the trails of Hefner & Overholser been connected?

Some of the trails you've mentioned have changed name... some more have been added to the list... the rest are planned but not yet funded.

What's the difference between the South Grand Boulevard Trail (3 miles) and the South Grand Boulevard Trail (7 miles)?

Also the Hefner/Overholser trail is completed. There will just be some eventual upgrades that have yet to be installed. Those being not having to share the Wilshire portion with vehicular traffic from NW Expressway to Rockwell Avenue & then the funded, yet to be constructed, pedestrian bridge they're suppose to put over NW Expressway so you don't have to fight the traffic!

The Katy Trail is complete up to or near NE 23rd St. and they're currently working on the rest of it to up near the Remington Park/Zoo complex.

I saw a story recently on the news about finding the funding for the next project of the trails involving the North Grand Boulevard stretch from Lake Hefner through the Nichols Hills area, which you think would then boost funding for the Deep Ford Greenway--which IMO could be a beautiful bike ride.

Is the Deep Fork Greenway a trail along the Deep Fork creek that parallels I-44?

I think it was a major mistake to not make that creek central to a long park/parkway across the North side of town.

Yes, the Deep Fork Greenway, if constructed, would be that.

It needs some major upkeep as a lot of the walls are 20-30 foot drop offs and it always looks nasty dead around there (at least during the fall/winter). Being that the walls tend to give way over time, I'd imagine this project would be pretty expensive as they'd probably have to build some retaining walls if the trail were to be in close proximity to the creek.

Is the Overholser trail connected to downtown via the Oklahoma River trails? If not it should be. I only have experience with the Hefner trail and the ones in Norman but want to tackle the river trail when the weather gets nice again.

No, not currently.
