I have a secondary computer that has a motherboard issue.

I cannot find a single place to purchase computer components such as motherboards or CPU's

Is there no such place in OKC as Comp USA? Frys?

I've bought from these guys in the past and they were free with good tech advice.

If you need to shop locally, Computer Connection at 6607 N May Ave (848-2044) may be able to help as well. We've never had a Fry's, and CompUSA is no more, (no big loss there).

PC Club is closed. Computer Connections is ok. We order most of our computer parts from Newegg (http://www.newegg.com/)
We also have ordered stuff from Xoxide (http://www.xoxide.com/)
Good prices and customer service from both.

Oh GAWD the Smell!

X2...And I'll add Geeks.com and Tigerdirect.com as the places for clearinghouse stuff.

You know Tigerdirect.com is now CompUSA, right? Tiger Direct bought CompUSA.

Or more accurately Systemax, Inc. which is the parent that purchased CompUSA, but also has owned Tiger and Infotel Distributing (for those of us that resell through them).

A little off topic, but who comes up with this silly names for some companies, Tiger Direct? I've heard of them, but it reminds me of those cheesy Blue Hippo tv commercials.

Have a bank account, need a computer? Then call Blue Hippo and everyone that calls qualifies to receive a desktop or laptop computer, and as a bonus, we will throw in a 20" LCD tv. Yeah, they don't tell you they're charging you probably 24% interest and at least double what you could buy it for in any store....... anyhow just a odd, funny observation.

If I were naming my own company, it would be unpronounceable and unforgettable...But that's just me, and it's probably one of many reasons why I don't own a business. :D

Tiger Direct is an easy name to say and spell, and it also is very easy to remember...And that I think, is the point.
