I guess it's times like these where it's good we have AFL2.

Arena Football League to cancel 2009 season; This time we think they mean it - Sports Pros(e) (http://blogs.suntimes.com/sportsprose/2008/12/arena_football_league_to_cance_1.html)

I heard that on the Sports Animal. Does that mean they'll be airing the AFL 2 games on NBC? That'd be pretty cool, although I personally doubt it.

Is AF2 still going then? It wouldn't make sense to cut the Arena Football season but not AF2... but I guess AF2 has a helluva lot less overhead.

Yes Midtowner. AF2 will still be going on. Watched the news this evening and they said the shutdown of regular AF will have no effect on our league.

AF2 is a separately managed organization and they are having no issues on funding at all.

I just saw this thread - have you guys gone to see the Yard Dawgz (af2) yet? They're really good this year, quite better than last year. Currently, their record is 4-1.

I love going...it's very entertaining & affordable! I always wish there were more people there cheering on the home team. These athletes are very talented.

They play Tulsa this week! Hope we beat 'em!

Also, the af2 operates on a much different pay scale, etc. than the AFL. Although the af2 and AFL are similar, the af2 is a single entity and can therefore survive without the AFL. I believe that the AFL players make a lot more than af2 players, which helps explain why the af2 operates with no debt.

Anyway, go to a game! It's fun & kids and adults LOVE it!! =)
