Where is the cheapest gas you have seen?

I filled up for $1.80 last night at the 7-11 on 4th street in Moore, between Santa Fe and Telephone Rd.

My wife bought real gas (no ethanol) for $1.89 just South of Hwy 9 in Norman on Monday. The guy I work with said he bought real gas for $1.77 in OKC.

Yeah, sounds like we're close. I used to live in that Plaza Towers area (could actually see the school from my front porch) and now I live on 5th street and can see Santa Fe elem from my driveway.

OnCue, 7-11 and the automated Road Star on NE 10th between Sunnylane and Sooner have the best gas prices.

I noticed people are pretty much abandoning the third world gas stations that advertise no alcohol in thier gas.

cool i live in plaza a couple blocks from the school off cardan, we actually looked at a house that was for sale across the street from the school back in july 2007 when we where shopping for our first house. So far I have enjoyed plaza, very nice neighbors, and friendly neighborhood, it just needs new roads throughout it and not just pothole fillings (which do not work)

I wouldnt say that i think with the lower gas prices the places that sell 100% gas would be seeing more business. In fact i have seen more and more stations dumping ethanol gas and going back to regular gas with no ethanol in it, I think people are finally catching on that ethanol is just not worth it.

Depends...after people blankly stated on here that ethonol is terrible I did a pretty extensive mileage test...saw no differences in my car. From what I have heard it kind of depends on the age of your car.

I also tested several tanks with ethanol followed by several without (my car is a 2005 model). I consistantly get 5% better gas mileage without ethanol. And the price of non ethanol gas can usually be found for about 5% more than the E10 junk. So as far as price/mileage goes it seems to be a wash. However my car runs much better on non ethanol gas.

So I stick with 100% gas. Besides I have several competative non-ethanol stations around my house. And as a side note, the 10% ethanol stuff really messed up my lawn mower.

And why is it always the third-world ones?

My problem with the third world gas stations is that most of them are operating in old Conveince Stores. Many of those stores are using old tanks that collect ground water like it is going out of style.

Only a select few have replaced thier tanks with modern tanks. Most of those only did so after the Corporation Commission shut the pumps down.

Interesting - must depend on type of car too...I have an 04...saw absolutely no measurable difference.

No, no, I meant "why is it the third-world gas stations who advertise the ethanol-free gas?". We seem to agree as far as your post.

Third World Gas Stations defined:

A gas station/convenience store that contains one or more of the following: more trash in the parking lot than cars, beer signs plastered everywhere to hide the clerk from police when he or she sells to alcohol and tobacco to minors, the inside of the store has not been cleaned since the 80's, a corner of the store contains the world's largest collection of porn mags, a hot food counter that contains week old pizza, burgers, egg rolls and mystery fried stuff, weird souvenirs, on the outside the building looks like a nuclear warhead has been detonated in the area, one more of the gas pumps are broken, two gas price signs with different prices (one is broke or the numbers are missing, the second sign is wire mesh flip sign with actual prices), burnt out lights everywhere you look, I could go on but, I think you get the picture. Overall all it is just a run down dump.

These third world stations are the only stations with giant banners on cars, the building or the pumps with "No Alcohol in Gas" "Alcohol Free Gas" etc. etc. The better stations are just putting on the front sign where the specials are usually posted.

Ha, no: I know what a "third-world" gas station is, although that was an entertaining post---that I enjoyed, BTW---which ascertained some details of them I had forgotten.

My question, for whomever knows as well as you, is "why is it the third-world gas stations that advertise or have such gas, rather than, say, 7-11 or Texaco?" I never see any place but these TW gas stations advertise it, and I wonder why?

I noticed the OnCue Express in MWC on Air Depot is different from 7-11 stations and the one at Williams in Del City. There is something about OnCue that is different.

All these stations have ethanol.

Fill up at 7-11 or Williams, the tank don't last long. A week at most.

Fill up at OnCue Express, amazing the tank is lasting me 2 weeks. The engine is smoother than whatever stations mixing ethanol with the gas.

Yeah, there is something else OnCue is mixing in with ethanol and gas. I dunno what it is, but it is great. I'm buying from there, it's cheaper. $30 tank fillup lasting 2 weeks and recently approaching $20.

I started buying at OnCue for four reasons, Cheap Quality Gas that is backed by their own guarantee, A store full of every snack and drink known to man. Fountain drinks with vanilla and cherry flavor fountains and Sonic style ice. If I ever get rich, I will have an OnCue on my estate.
