I want to take a picture or two around the memorial but with a car in the photo. It's for a contest on another forum of a vehicle in a historic location. Are there any spots around there that I can park and take a photo? I mean no disrespect by doing this, I just think it is one of the more historic (although not for a good reason) locations in this area.

No, it's on the complete opposite side of downtown. Bricktown barely even existed when the bombing happened. Bricktown is a created tourist attraction, the Murrah building wa in the CBD (Central Business District) where most downtowners work (although now plenty work in Bricktown).

ok...sorry

to me bricktown is downtown because i hardly ever go there. i used to frequent common grounds coffeeshop when i had friends there but even then I just considered everything in downtown to be "bricktown"

either way...are there any photograph locations?

No there aren't any where you can put a car in it. Unless you photoshop it.

BTW Bricktown is where the streets and buildings are brick. It's on the east side of the train tracks. The Murrah building was on NW 5th between Harvey and Robinson. Quite a bit North and West of B'town. Kinda like how people call Penn & Memorial Edmond.

Bricktown has more (or longer) history than the Memorial. Maybe you could take one there.

have you thought about that cool red brick flatiron building at 5th and Oklahoma? Talk about historic - that would make a great entry as the building is very photogenic

The Memorial is actually in the Arts District. Here's a link to maps (http://www.downtownokc.com/DowntowninDetail/DowntownMapsandDirections/tabid/65/Default.aspx) of the various downtown districts. It's unfortunate for both Bricktown and downtown that so many people confuse the two. Bricktown is actually a part of downtown, not the other way around.

You might also consider the old Farmers' Market. It's pretty historical and there's a decent sized parking lot on the south side so you could park your car however you need to, set up your camera, and not have to worry about getting run over. lol

It's on S. Klein, about 3rd street? You can see it from I-40

To clarify, that's SW 3rd not NW 3rd since both are in/near the downtown area.

That's why I put "S." before the Klein . . . thanks for the clarification

Sorry...I've been out of town for several days and I just now saw this. Looks like you've already gotten your answer, though.
