Couldn't find another thread on this - but I noticed the other day that the Carl's Jr. on Main St. in downtown OKC was closed.

You'd have thought they would stick it out through the NBA season to see if things pick up.

I always saw several customers inside, but maybe their overhead was too much to bear.

They had VERY limited hours. Basically 11-3 Mon-Fri. All the other places down there (Quizno's, Subway, etc) stay open for dinner and are open on Saturdays.

That isn't right unless they had recently changed their hours. I had breakfast there several times and some time ago I had dinner there before a meeting a 6pm just upstairs from the Carl's Jr.

I get the impression that CJ's as a brand is suffering in general.

I ate there one time and it was not a good experience. All of the meals were HUGE and relatively expensive. They steered people to the kiosks to order, which were not working quite right. It also took a long time to get my order. There is definitley a demand, as evidenced by the long line at Subway.

They may have the best fast food in the world but a lot of people refuse to eat there because of their nasty-ass commercials. Myself included.

And because it all tastes like crap.

Carl Jr's reminds me of Jack in the Box. Yuck.

Remember the Quiznos Rat commercials ?

Weird when you think about it, because in my opinion, there's a lack of decent fast-food options downtown. Quiznos. 2 Subways. City Bites.

I wish Chic Fil A was still open downtown. Love their food!

2 Subways, more like 5. I can think of 4 off the top of my head.

Are there still that many? One on Main by the Main St Parking Garage, one on Harvey on the W side of Leadership Square....I can't think of any others.

One in Plaza Court, one in the Valero on Reno and Classen/Western, One in the gas station in Bricktown.

Ah. I was talking about just the CBD, in which I think there used to be 3, but now just two.

I think he was talking about CBD fast food choices, if you look at the things he listed.

Carl's jr's is just too expensive for what it is. They used to be relatively cheap, but now their six dollar burger actually costs six dollars. I can go to a real restaurant for the same price.

Carl's Jr. used to actually have decent (read: normal) food too. I don't know when they changed their menu, but I wouldn't eat anything on it now.

The CJ's at 23rd and Broadway never appears to be very busy either.

hoyasooner and jbelius you both hit the nail right on the head about Carl's Jr.
