The "Bowling For Dollars" franchise and its variants have historically had wide popularity across the country, if with a slight bias towards the Rust Belt. Did one of these bowling shows ever make it to this city?

I'm thinking out loud to anyone out there with the means that such a show might work these days. Redpin Bowling Lounge could be used as the facility (taping during a slow period or maybe playing live and taping, say, Saturday morning or early afternoon when the lanes would be slow, I guess) if building a pair of studio lanes was deemed too expensive. There are plenty of bowlers, skilled and otherwise, to fill the roster.

A novelty approach could be taken, e.g., have squabbles between two participants settled a la "Let's Bowl" on Comedy Central some years back, then the winner plays a local league bowler for a prize. Or, have it just straight bowling with the same face-off with the league bowler. Get some radio personalities involved---maybe Al Eschbach and Jack Elliott, perhaps Laurens Richardson or Craun doing contestant interviews and vox pop.

The thing is - bowling is fun to play but it sucks to watch on TV (kind of like golf and baseball).
