Oklahoma City Community College will dedicate its $7 million Health Professions Center this afternoon.

The two-story academic facility added 42,879 square feet to the existing complex and includes 14 classrooms and labs, student clinical practice space and a Human Patient Simulator lab.

“This new facility increases out capacity to address this shortage (qualified applicants for professional healthcare providers) by providing our faculty with state-of-the-art classrooms and labs for our highly successful health profession programs that prepare health professionals for life applications,” Dr. Paul Sechrist, OCCC president said in a statement.

The 2005 capital bond issue funded the construction project. Triad Design Group served as the center’s architect.

The Division of Health Professions support other allied health programs offered through cooperative agreements with Francis Tuttle, Moore-Norman, and Metro Tech Technology Centers, and arrangements with Integris Health and the Oklahoma City Fire Department.
