I know it's only October, but make your plans now!

Opening Night 2009 is Wednesday, December 31st, 2008 from 7 p.m.-midnight in venues around Downtown Oklahoma City. This year's entertainment features a variety of performances from some of Oklahoma's brightest stars.

An Opening Night admission wristband allows you access to all venues, all night long. Wristbands are $8 in advance, or $10 at the event.

For more information on Opening Night call (405) 270-4848.

This year's headliners at the Cox Center will be again - The Flaming Lips!! Also inside the Cox Center will be Stardeath & the White Dwarfs and Lemma!!

The full event listing will be available within the next month or so. Check back for more details.

And here I thought you were going to be talking about Opening Night for the Thunder. I'm looking forward to both.

Do you know when tickets will go on sale for the Flaming Lips? Thanksgiving time?

I think they wanted to get through the parade before they started messing with that. They should go on sale pretty soon. I would just check their myspace page as well as their website. I'm sure the artscouncil will put it up as well like last year.

The Flaming Lips show is not an official part of Opening Night this year. I'm sure the concert details will be posted at The Official Flaming Lips Website (http://www.flaminglips.com)

Thunder fans can show their ticket stub at Opening Night HQ (north entrance of the Cox Center) to get a wristband for $8.

Opening Night wristbands go on sale November 28th at metro 7-Eleven stores, Homeland stores, MidFirst Bank locations, Mathis Brothers, and Penn Square Mall. You can also buy your wristbands at the event for $10. All the details are at Oklahoma City Arts Council, OKC Arts Council | Arts Council of Oklahoma City (http://www.artscouncilokc.com)
