The Oklahoman

A Marble Slab Creamery has opened in the Lower Bricktown area of Oklahoma City at 216 Johnny Bench, directly east of the Harkins Theater and on the Bricktown Canal.

It is downtown's first Marble Slab store. Owners are Chris and Melonnie Maxon who also own a Marble Slab store in Norman. Marble Slab has stores in Edmond and Tulsa as well.

I'm glad to here that Marble Slab is finally open. If you've never been to Marble Slab in Edmond, it's similar to Coldstone Creamery or Maggie Moo's......it's an upscale ice cream shop with all sorts of selection. A bit pricey, but well worth it in my opinion. I think Marble Slab will do very well in Lower Bricktown, especially with it being right next to the movie theater. Bricktown has been needing a good ice cream shop for some time now. This will fill that void.

A few years ago when I talked with Randy Hogan, he also mentioned a Jamba Juice...I wonder what ever happened to that idea....I think a Jamba Juice right next to Sonic would be a nice fit!
