Oklahoma City Sonics? Hornets? Not gonna happen - CBSSports.com Live Scores, Stats, Schedules (http://www.sportsline.com/columns/story/9573738)

Someone should probably call him out for missing this badly.

yap, whose gonna do it? lol

I'd love for all of those naysaying stories and writers to get SERVED big time on the OKC. but maybe we should wait until all of the records are broken! You know, season tix, attendance, market support, so on.

That will have them EATING our shorts!

That's when you write this guy:

This isn’t really any different. If Clay Bennett, who bought the Sonics last year for $350 million, wants a new arena, let him pay for it. It used to be the American way.

See, this is where the national media and Seattle just didn't get it. Bennett didn't want a new arena in Seattle. This quote should have read like this:

If Clay Bennett, who bought the Sonics last year for $350 million, doesn't want a new arena, he shouldn't pay for it. It is the American way.

If Seattle wanted a team in Seattle then Seattle should have build the arena. Oklahoma City wanted a team in Oklahoma City so Oklahoma City built an arena. See how it works.

Take a look at this guy's Hate Mail section. Scroll down to a comment left by Kevin Janofski, regarding a tennis article. Notice what Mr. Doyel writes back.

Hate Mail: Game of love and hate ... then there's Favre - NCAA Division I Mens Basketball - CBSSports.com Live Scores, Stats, Schedules (http://www.sportsline.com/columns/story/NCAAB_hate_mail)

That's why I'm not going to get worked up over this. This guy's a punk, not a credible writer. Don't worry about it.

Gregg Doyel's infamous article was covered in a 2006 blog article, along with a counterpart by Greg Wyshynski predicting it differently:

I'm glad that the guy with the big cigar won the argument, needless to say! Doyel is such a meaningless twerp.

Well, he was right about one thing: The team will not be called the Hornets or the Sonics. The rest of the article is junk, but at least he was right about the headline.
