Just curious to see if anyone has purchased the new iPhone 3G and could share their story of how long it took, where you got it, the long lines, the store's supply, etc. I was considering purchasing one and I figured I'm not the only one on here that would like to know about the experience. Thanks!

I'm sticking with the old one for now. It's not worth the extra money per month just to switch to 3g.

i'm disappointed that the iphone 3g won't be supporting adobe flash out of the box.

Since when does ATT charge more to use 3g? Is it just for Iphones?

I believe the basic rate for the original iPhone was $59.99. Now with the iPhone 3G the basic rate is $69.99. I'm not sure of the specific reason but I heard that it is because of the GPS capability. Also the new rate doesn't include text messages at all.

I'm sticking with my 1st Gen iPhone, but I have a friend at Penn Sq Mall who is still in line as I type... he's been there since 8:00am. Apparently there is some problems with the Apple servers being able to handle the activations occurring worldwide at this point.

I heard it was about a $40 additional fee for unlimited data if you upgrade to the 3g, basically apple/att were supplementing the data just to sell more phones. Not to mention there is also an $18 "upgrade" fee. That's just another gimmick to get more money from you, heck they just made some cash from ya last year on buying the 1 gen iphone, now they want to stick their loyal customers with an "upgrade fee". How's that for customer service?

I'm not upgrading my iPhone. Most of the places I go have wifi anyway, which is faster than 3g.
